We had an inspiring idea at our headquarters in Carnforth—to produce our very own sketchbooks made from 100% recycled cartridge paper. The journey began at our local paper mill, James Cropper, located just 18 miles away. James Cropper is renowned for its quality and commitment to sustainability, making it the perfect partner for our vision.

In June 2022, a team from Blue Acorn visited James Cropper to gain insights into the intricate paper-making process and the fiber streams sourced from UK suppliers. This collaboration allows us to create sketchbooks with 100% recycled and recyclable paper, reflecting our dedication to sustainability.

Our sketchbooks boast an array of exceptional features designed to support your creative journey:
100% Recycled Cartridge Paper: Each sketchbook contains 35 sheets of 160gsm recycled cartridge paper. This toothy paper offers the ideal surface for a variety of artistic mediums, including inks, pencils, sketching pens, brush pens, and light washes of paint.
Locally Manufactured:
The paper for our sketchbooks is produced less than 18 miles away from our premises at James Cropper, a world-renowned paper mill. The cartridge paper comprises reworked fiber from James Cropper’s own production processes and selected long-fiber production off-cuts from established industry partners within the UK. By upcycling fiber from UK sources, we take pride in offering sustainable sketchbooks.
Superior Binding Options:
Our sketchbooks are available in A3 and A4 sizes. Choose from the Supreme spiral or the Standard spiral in both portrait and landscape orientations. The Supreme Spiral features a large diameter twin spiral binding, enabling easy additions and enhancements to your artwork without strain or damage to the pages. You can also attach and store various articles within the sketchbook. The hard-wearing black cover ensures durability, making it suitable for use throughout courses and presenting finished work.
