The main difference between Watercolour pencils and paint
are that Watercolour pencils are a drawing and painting medium all in one,
whereas paint is just a painting medium. Both watercolour pencils and paint are
great mediums to work with but offer different ways of working and produce varied
results.
Watercolour pencils give you the freedom to draw detailed
art, giving you a lot more control than paint, and with a fine sharpened tip
the ability to create fine lines and texture. They give more control over how
much pigment you use, how much water and bleed.
Whereas with paint its much harder to control the flow of
water and achieve fine lines and details, it is suited to larger washes of
colour.
There is also no need to mix paints when using pencils as
they can be beautifully blended on paper, making them a more portable option as
less water is needed therefore creating less mess. The colours are brought to
life with brushes of water and then blended seamlessly.
Blue Acorn
Aquarelle pencils are lovely rich, vibrant water-soluble coloured pencils with
evenly dispersed pigments and good colour permanency in a round cedar barrel.
Manufactured with high concentration pigments and bleached kaolin, a white clay
of the highest purity is used along with other binders to achieve a unique
stroke on paper or any other medium. The colours have excellent durability,
blend ability and lightfastness and are extremely soluble which means an
aquarelle technique can be achieved with just a few drops of water. This Blue
